Meet the first-ever series of Scaevola aemula with star-shaped rather than fan-shaped flowers. Though both types have five petals, those of the new Stardiva® series are arranged in a perfect star formation, lending a larger, fuller appearance to the blossoms. Pollinating bees are quick to find the tiny white bullseye that rims the throat of each violet blue flower. These plants form a compact, densely mounded to semi-trailing mound that is smaller overall than Whirlwind® Scaevola. They are extremely durable in sun, heat, humidity, rain, drought and wind. Color doesn’t get any easier than Stardiva!

The optimum amount of sun or shade each plant needs to thrive: Full Sun (6+ hours), Part Sun (4-6 hours), Full Shade (up to 4 hours).
Stardiva fan flowers are densely mounded plants that make great fillers for containers but will also spill slightly over the edges as they mature through the season. They are beautiful when planted on their own in pots or mixed with other well-behaved varieties. Also try them planted near the front of garden borders where they will add a bright splash of color all season.
Stardiva fan flowers are low maintenance annuals that thrive in tough conditions. These Australian natives can handle intense sun, heat, humidity and drought. Since their flowers are self-cleaning, no deadheading is needed to stay in bloom from planting until frost.
Mixing Proven Winners Continuous Release plant food into the soil at time of planting should keep them happy all season. A second application midsummer is recommended in warm climates with extended growing seasons.
