HOW PRE-ORDERING & SHIPPING WORKS

 

Thank you for choosing Set Apart Farm & Gardens to provide you with some amazing Proven Winners Annuals! Here's some information on how our pre-ordering as well as how our shipping program works. 

After you have added your plants of choice to your cart, you will automatically see any coupons we're currently offering apply to your cart. Make sure to take advantage of those coupons during our pre-order sale since they will be our best prices of the year. 

While you're adding items to your cart, be sure to choose you're ship week based on your gardening zone. We will not ship plants if the dates are before the frost date in your zone because they may freeze in transit. Be sure to choose a date that is after your last frost date. The date that you choose is not the exact date or week when we will ship the plants to you. We will ship the plants either the week you choose or the following week depending on order volumes at the time and weather. We ship Mondays-Wednesdays so that the plants are not sitting in boxes on the weekends at the carrier's warehouses.

Keep in mind, if your plants lose blooms or a few stems during shipping it isn't a big deal AT ALL! When you buy our plants, you are buying the root systems that are fully developed. That means that you will be receiving well rooted plants that even if the top of the plant experiences any minor damage during shipping, they will grow right back in a matter of a week maybe two.

Each plant undergoes rigorous inspection, meticulous packaging, and accurate labeling before making its way to your door.

Concerns About Your Plants?

If you have any concerns about your order, whether related to plant issues or shipping, please don't hesitate to contact us within 3 days of receipt. You can contact us via email at setapartfarmandgardens@gmail.com. It usually takes us 24-48 hours during the busy season to reply since we are a family-owned business with a small team. We do highly prioritize your messages and do our best to reply as quickly as possible to resolve your concerns.

Identifying Plant Damage:

While we take every precaution to minimize stress during shipping, plants may occasionally exhibit cosmetic issues. These are typically superficial and do not impact overall plant health. Common cosmetic issues include yellowing or browning leaves, tip burn, leaf drop, or minor stem breakage. Please note that we routinely prune plants before shipment as part of standard maintenance. Do not be concerned if you plant has been pruned and it doesn't have blooms. We may have pruned it to discourage it being leggy as well as to make it easier and tougher for shipping.

Exclusions from Guarantee:

Set Apart Farm and Gardens cannot be held responsible for issues that arise from factors beyond our control, including delayed unboxing or planting, overwintering challenges, damage caused by animals, insects, or diseases, weather-related frost or freezing, watering inconsistencies, or improper planting techniques.

Refund Process:

Upon filing a claim within 3 days of receipt, we will gladly issue a refund for the plant's purchase price within 30 days if the plant fails to thrive. Refunds will not be processed after 30 days. If no claim is filed within the specified period and plants fail within 30 days of delivery, a one-time refund of 50% of the plant's original cost will be issued; please note that shipping costs are non-refundable. Kindly provide a photo of the affected plant to facilitate the refund process.

Return Policy:

Due to the perishable nature of live plant material, Set Apart Farm and Gardens does not accept returns. You can keep the plants and nurture them back to health. We appreciate your understanding.

Shipping Disclaimer:

We guarantee delivery only to the provided shipping address and cannot be held liable for undelivered plants due to incorrect address details.

Limitation of Liability:

Set Apart Farm and Gardens LLC will not assume responsibility for any amount exceeding the order total. We reserve the right to modify this guarantee without prior notification.


Here are some frequently asked questions! FAQ

 

How big will my plants be when I get them? 

Your plants will be about 12 weeks old by the time you receive them which means you will be receiving a well established plant. In terms of the size it's difficult to say because we do pinch blooms and trim plants often to encourage branching as well as sometimes they get so big we can't even fit them in a box to ship them to you :) 

Will my plants be in bloom when I get them? 

Yes & no! It depends on the size of the plant. Sometimes we have to forfeit blooms and trim the plants to fit them in the boxes or sometimes we ship plants after we trim because we are encouraging branching. Most home gardeners don't know to trim some of their plants to allow bushy growth, so we make sure to do so so that our customers get a well branched, lush plant. 

Do you guarantee your plants?

We guarantee our plants in that when they leave our greenhouse they will be in perfect condition. We cannot guarantee after they are in the hands of the shipping providers because that's not something that is in our control. We have a very meticulous packaging process and we choose the quickest shipping options possible to ensure you get your plants in the best condition possible. Always be sure to take photos of your plants if they come severely damaged and we can see how we can help. 

What condition do the plants come & in what size?

The plants always come in excellent condition and ready to go! The plants are in Grande Pots which are 4.25" pots that we plant all of our annuals in. The Perennial plants, unless it says otherwise, are shipping in Quart-sized pots.

Do you use pesticides on your plants?

The plants that we grow come in in the form of plugs from Four Star Nursery. Sometimes they use pesticides that last about 24 hours, but we know the pesticides they use do not contain any Neonicotinoids. Once we receive the plants, however, we do not use any chemical fertilizers or even soil that has any chemicals in it. We only use natural means to pest diseases as well as natural amendments just like we would in our veggie gardens or anywhere else. We do not personally like handling chemicals or breathing that in or even coming in contact with them, so we choose to not use any and we use many natural amendments to solve any issues we may come upon during our time growing the plants. We are huge fans of Espoma products and use the soils, fertilizers, and more as natural means to grow strong and healthy plants

Set Apart Farm & Gardens reserves the right to refuse service or cancel an order if the customer or company shows signs of fraud, vulgar behavior, slander, discriminatory behavior, unlawful behavior, and any other type of wrongful communication that may flag the customer account as likely scam.
