FEATURES

‘Pink Lightning’ packs an electrifying punch into a small package, not growing more than a foot tall and wide. It features strappy, lance-shaped leaves that are striped in light pink, cool green, and electric purple. It is in the spiderwort, or tradescantia family, and like its iconic cousin ‘Feeling Flirty’, is very low maintenance and easy to care for. Unlike ‘Feeling Flirty’, however, ‘Pink Lighting’ grows in an upright, clumping habit, rather than a trialing, spreading habit.

Maintenance Notes:
  • For optimal performance, keep at 60-85°F (15-29°C).
  • This is an easy-to-grow houseplant, but can also be grown outside in the warm season.  Indoors, it will thrive in bright light. Outdoors, it will do well in a part sun situation.
  • It will grow best in a humid environment.
  • Water as needed, when the top inch or two of soil is dry to the touch. When you do water, apply enough water to soak all of the soil.
  • During the growing season, fertilize this plant at half strength once per month.
  • Protect furniture when watering.
  • Please note that if you don't provide enough light, this plant will become more spindly and sparse, and will not be as full.
